What is Sricity International University (SIU)?
Sricity International University (SIU) is a Work-Study Dual Model Education System where students graduate with 2+ years of real-world experience. Curriculum is co-designed with help of Industry Partners and taught by a mix of Professors of Practice, Industry Partners and Regular Faculty. Internship is mandatory and integral to the curriculum. Students get paid a monthly stipend of ₹10,000+ during the internship period. SIU's Work-Study program is intense, with an academic year of 46 weeks compared to 30 weeks at normal universities.
What is the purpose, mission and vision of SIU?
Our purpose is to bridge the long-standing gap between higher education and industry expectations in India. Who are the people behind SIU?
SIU is established under the AP State Private University Act by a diverse group of technocrats, entrepreneurs and philanthropists who have been part of leading institutions such as IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Sri City, ISB, Krea University and PHFI.
Who owns SIU?
SIU is not owned by an individual or family. It is established by a group of philanthropists and education leaders who have built and led some of India's most respected higher education institutions.
Is SIU recognised? Will my degree be valid?
Yes. SIU is established under the Andhra Pradesh State Private Universities Act and complies with State, UGC and AICTE requirements. Degrees awarded are valid for higher studies, government jobs and private sector employment in India and abroad.
How is SIU different from other Private Universities?
Students graduate with a degree and 2+ years of real-world experience. Internships are mandatory. Students receive stipends of ₹10,000+ per month. Curriculum is co-designed with industry partners. The academic year is 46 weeks compared to 30 weeks in traditional universities.
Who are Industry Partners? What do they offer?
Industry Partners include manufacturing companies, product development firms, digital media companies and BPO organizations. They offer paid internships, help co-design curriculum and provide adjunct faculty.
Do All Programs/Degrees have internships?
Yes. At SIU, internships are mandatory for all programs of study.
Are Internships only at Sri City or elsewhere?
Many internships are at Sri City-based industries and companies, but opportunities also exist in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Where do students stay during Internship period?
Students interning at Sri City-based industries continue staying in SIU hostels. Outstation interns stay in nearby hostels or shared accommodations arranged through SIU partnerships.
When was SIU established and how big is it?
SIU is a new greenfield university starting from the 2026-27 academic year with a founding batch of 300 students across four programs.
Programs and Curriculum
What undergraduate programs does SIU offer?
SIU offers B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, B.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering, BBA in Finance & Accounting, and BBA in Digital Marketing & Communications.
How is the curriculum designed?
The curriculum is built for industry by industry. Senior leaders from companies contribute to learning outcomes, case studies, internships and annual curriculum reviews.
What is the focus of the B.Tech program?
The B.Tech program focuses on job readiness through strong foundations in mathematics, programming, engineering fundamentals, hands-on labs, industry projects and internships.
What is the focus of the BBA program?
The BBA program develops business professionals and entrepreneurs through finance, marketing, operations, analytics, strategy, consulting projects and internships.
Do you offer minors or double specialisations?
Yes. Students can take minors from prescribed course lists within their program, enabling additional specialization alongside their major.
Education Methodology — Block Teaching
What is block teaching?
Block teaching is a pedagogy where students study one subject intensively at a time instead of multiple subjects simultaneously across a semester.
Why has SIU chosen block teaching?
Block teaching allows students to focus deeply on one subject, improve retention, spend more time on projects and receive faster feedback.
How are students assessed under block teaching?
Assessment is continuous and competency-based. Each block includes assignments, lab work, projects, presentations, quizzes and a final assessment.
What if a student struggles in one block?
Faculty office hours, peer-learning groups and academic mentors are built into the model. Support is provided within the same block through remediation pathways and reassessment opportunities.
Fees and Payment
What is the tuition fee for the B.Tech program?
The B.Tech tuition fee for Computer Science & Engineering is ₹3.6 lakhs per year and Manufacturing Engineering is ₹2.8 lakhs per year.
What is the tuition fee for the BBA program?
The BBA tuition fee is ₹2.4 lakhs per year.
What does the hostel fee include?
The hostel fee is ₹1.2 lakhs per year on a twin-sharing basis. It includes accommodation, food, electricity, Wi-Fi and washing facilities.
What is the total cost of attendance per year?
For a residential B.Tech CSE student: ₹4.8 lakhs (₹3.6L tuition + ₹1.2L hostel). Manufacturing Engineering: ₹4.0 lakhs. BBA: ₹3.6 lakhs. Day scholars pay tuition only. Scholarships can significantly reduce these figures.
What is the refund policy?
SIU follows a transparent regulator-aligned refund policy. Details are provided in the offer letter and admission agreement.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Does SIU offer scholarships?
Yes. SIU offers scholarships of up to 75% of tuition fees to support deserving students from diverse backgrounds.
What types of scholarships are available?
Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, entrance test performance, EWS status, sports excellence, girl-child encouragement and outstanding co-curricular achievements.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
There is no separate scholarship application. Every applicant is automatically considered during the admissions process.
Are EWS and reserved-category students eligible?
Yes. Students from EWS and special categories are eligible for dedicated scholarship schemes in addition to merit-based awards.
Internships, Placements and Career Outcomes
Are internships mandatory at SIU?
Yes. Internships are a core credited component of every SIU program. Students complete multiple internships and graduate with documented work experience.
How does SIU's location help with internships?
Sri City hosts over 200 companies, including major MNCs and leading Indian firms. Many are within a short drive or walking distance from campus.
What about placements after graduation?
Placement support includes career counselling, CV workshops, mock interviews, internship-to-job pipelines and live industry engagement.
Does SIU guarantee placements?
SIU does not offer placement guarantees. Instead, the model is designed around extensive internships and industry engagement so students graduate with significant work experience and professional connections.
Are there opportunities for entrepreneurship?
Yes. SIU has a dedicated incubation cell that supports students through mentorship, incubation, investor access and entrepreneurship-focused academic pathways.
Admissions
What is the eligibility for the B.Tech program?
Applicants must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Valid scores from JEE Main and CUET are accepted.
What is the eligibility for the BBA program?
Applicants must have completed Class 12 in any stream. CUET scores may be considered along with a personal interview.
What is the admissions process?
Step 1: Apply online. Step 2: Submit entrance exam scores. Step 3: Attend a personal interview. Step 4: Receive admission decision and scholarship offer. Step 5: Confirm admission by paying fees.
What is the last date to apply?
Applications for the 2026–27 academic year are open. The official closing date will be announced through the SIU admissions portal. Early applications are encouraged because seats are limited.

Campus and Sri City
Where exactly is SIU located?
SIU is located inside Sri City on the Andhra Pradesh–Tamil Nadu border, approximately 55 km north of Chennai along NH-16.
Is Sri City a good place for students?
Sri City is a planned integrated business city spread across more than 7,500 acres hosting over 200 multinational companies from more than 30 countries.
How is the campus infrastructure?
The campus features smart classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, recreation spaces and student-friendly common areas.
Is the campus safe for girl students?
Sri City provides a safe environment with gated access, 24×7 security, CCTV monitoring, dedicated wardens, anti-ragging committees and grievance redressal mechanisms.
Hostel and Accommodation
Is hostel accommodation mandatory?
Hostel accommodation is recommended but not mandatory. Most students choose to stay on campus for the immersive residential experience.
Are hostels separate for boys and girls?
Yes. Boys and girls have separate hostel facilities with dedicated wardens, security arrangements and clearly defined access rules.
What does the hostel fee cover?
The hostel fee covers accommodation, food, electricity, Wi-Fi and washing facilities.
Internship & Industry Partner
What is an Industry Partner?
An Industry Partner is a company that provides internships, helps in curriculum design and may also contribute adjunct faculty or project opportunities.
Can a student choose an Industry Partner?
Industry Partners select students based on requirements. SIU also tries to match students with suitable industry opportunities.
How early does the internship begin?
Internships begin early depending on the program — from the first year or second year onwards, and are fully integrated into the academic structure.
Does SIU help with education loans?
Yes. SIU has arrangements with partner banks for education loans, and students are supported through scholarship programs to improve affordability.
